Blakeview Birth to Year 7 School
Designed to embrace and specifically support the new 21st century SA learning pedagogy this new school features interconnected flexible hubs which promote individuality and individual learning opportunities. The buildings are planned around central protected courtyards which promote diverse activity and interaction.
The learning hubs are light, airy and promote interaction through transparency and flexibility. Opportunity for individual curriculum delivery is offered through the various configurations of room sizes, central communal breakout spaces and semi enclosed outdoor areas.
Large external covered areas are provided for shade, more structured activities and general interaction of the student community. These are strategically placed to extend the internal learning environments to promote linked outdoor/indoor activities.
The concept adopts the intentional de- institutionalisation of spaces which are transposed in the overall appearance of the facility. Reminiscence of a hilltop village the facility will be unique to the Blakeview community.
