Lyell McEwin Hospital

This Master Plan underpinned the subsequent highly successful redevelopment of this major hospital which services Adelaide's northern suburban and regional areas.

 

Central to the Master Plan was the establishment of a strong planning grid which provided a logical framework for a highly efficient hospital layout with carefully considered vehicular and pedestrian movement zones and effective external spaces.

 

The plan also delivered the fundamental requirement to enable the replacement of the majority of the site's existing buildings and the construction of 50,000 sqm of new buildings without any disruption to health services during construction.

 

The Master Plan's attention to the orientation and relationship of critical elements has enabled the redeveloped hospital to achieve ESD outcomes.
