Since the amalgamation of the Adelaide Children's Hospital and the Queen Victoria Hospital onto a single campus in the early 1990s, Cheesman Architects has developed and refined this major hospital's Master Plan as the basis for ongoing site development.

Periodic Master Planning reviews and updates have ensured that anticipated changes in service delivery and building technology are planned and accommodated for and that the important elements underpinning the hospital's unique culture are preserved to ensure that the site continues to provide the best health care for women and children in South Australia.
