Carl’s Jr Mt Barker

The first Carl’s Jr franchise family restaurant to be opened in South Australia, this was a pilot facility to develop and test the restaurant and food preparation area configuration and design details based on the US Parent company style guide and using local products. Incorporated into an existing building the restaurant encompassed sit-down and take away dining as well as drive-through take away facilities. Despite a challenging site strict adherence was achieved to the key layout requirements which underpin the food preparation upon which the Carl’s Jr brand is founded. Design was undertaken in collaboration with the Australian franchise owner and US parent company representatives to ensure that the brand’s key design and service requirements were achieved. This included development of details associated with incorporating the restaurant into a shared-use building for the Australian market rather than a stand-alone building which is the North American standard.
