WCH Allan Campbell Building
This project involved the refurbishment of an historic building from the 19th century located at the Women's & Children's Hospital to accommodate childhood cancer outpatients and a research laboratory.
The Allan Campbell Building was being under utilised and the redevelopment incorporated new functions to give the building a fresh lease of life and allow it to become an important addition to the hospital site.
The design solution sensitively retained the heritage elements of the existing building whilst accommodating cutting edge research laboratories and sensitive and welcoming patient care areas.
The building was originally used as The McGuiness McDermott Foundation headquarters and Cheesman Architects donated their services to this project to support childhood cancer.
