Port Lincoln Hospital

A $35m redevelopment and extension of the existing Port Lincoln Hospital encompassing complete replacement and upgrade of patient accommodation, surgical facilities, outpatient, chemotherapy and dialysis services, dental services and all core public and administrative facilities. Required to be delivered without disruption to health service delivery, the new project provided a striking new appearance to the hospital and a new masterplan framework to rationalize access to new and existing service areas. The design was developed after substantial consultation with the local community stakeholder groups and service providers to ensure a relevant and valued outcome. Significant consideration of the local environment including prevailing weather, views and topography has resulted in a facility that offers excellent views and amenity to occupants whilst also achieving specific functional requirements. The new design also purposely set out to address existing building deterioration and infrastructure issues on the site as an integral component of the new facilities.The project was completed without disruption to planned health services and within budget and programme.
