IMVS Hanson Institute Building

This 5,000 sqm new laboratory building was commissioned by the Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science for its main Adelaide campus. The building contains specialist research laboratories including PC3 facilities and accommodates numerous research functions in a common facility.

The site is bounded by a variety of elements requiring consideration by the design including the Adelaide Parklands, the historic IMVS campus buildings and the University of Adelaide's distinctive medical school building. The new building succeeded in providing an architectural solution that sat comfortably within this challenging context as well delivering the required functional layout.
