TQEH Bicycle Park

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Bike Park

An innovative approach to meeting the hospital's desire to promote bike riding as a healthy and environmentally friendly mode of transport for staff.

The challenge was to provide a state-of-the-art, secure bike park for use by staff, that could be re-located several times to facilitate the ongoing re-development of the hospital site.

The solution was a funky bike park for 70 bikes, made from recycled shipping containers, combined with new elements fabricated from environmentally sustainable materials incorporating the latest security technology.

The park comprises 5 modules which can be readily dismantled, moved and reassembled. A striking form and strong graphics draw attention to this unique and innovative facility.
