Lyell McEwin Hospital Emergency Department

The Lyell McEwin Hospital is transforming patient experience in the North.

As part of an ongoing commitment to improving healthcare delivery in the region, the Northern Adelaide Health Network has completed a series of critical upgrades within its facilities, significantly enhancing the patient experience and clinical functionality. Key components of the project include newly designed reception and waiting areas that prioritise patient comfort and accessibility, along with the delivery of advanced resuscitation facilities and a dedicated assessment and treatment area for children.

In addition to these frontline services, the project also incorporates new clinical support spaces and a purpose-built Mental Health Short Stay Unit, designed to provide timely and appropriate care in a safe, therapeutic environment. These upgrades support a more efficient flow of care and reflect modern standards in healthcare design and service delivery.

Carefully staged during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, construction was carried out in close collaboration with clinicians to ensure minimal disruption to ongoing services and the safety of both staff and patients. With final works due for completion in early 2023, this project marks a significant milestone in the transformation of health services across Northern Adelaide
